Dan Kenemer

Senior Framework Architect

How did you join the Quavo Fraud & Disputes team?

After graduating from Grand Valley State University in 2002 with a degree in Computer Science, I took a slight career detour. I spent a summer in Barcelona, Spain, before officially starting my software engineering career at Auto-Owners Insurance Company (AO). AO brought me to the Lansing, Michigan area and introduced me to many awesome people, including my amazing wife Jen, many of my closest friends, and some of the very talented people that I continue to work with today at Quavo Fraud & Disputes. It also introduced me to the Pega Platform, which has been a major career focus of mine ever since. From AO, a handful of us transitioned to Bank of America, which led me to the Financial Services Industry and another slew of great coworkers and friends. Through this experience, we determined in 2016, there was a huge opportunity to use our skills and expertise to develop a best-in-class dispute management system for the industry which led to Quavo and our QFD® Dispute Management Software. Since joining Quavo, I have been a lead system architect for QFD®, and I continue to help guide the direction, design the system, and implement the solution as it matures and expands functionality.

As a Senior Framework Architect I am primarily focused on QFD®, one of our core solutions at Quavo. I have helped design and develop the product, making it the complete and mature product it is today. In my role, I also love being a mentor to other developers and enjoy helping them learn how to best utilize the Pega Platform to build our solutions.

What is important to you about Quavo’s company culture?

I think our company’s core values define what makes our culture so great. We are humble and authentic, and this authenticity allows us to fully trust each other and build trust with our partners and clients. We have developed a phenomenal team, and I sincerely look forward to working with them every day. We are also passionate about our products, and this passion is infectious. It creates a team dynamic where we strive for innovation. We work to stay abreast of emerging technologies and ideas within the industry while focusing on the quality of the products we deliver. And most importantly, we have fun while doing it. I enjoy working for a company where I can tackle the current stumbling blocks with my peers over a beer and a game of bags right at the office. I appreciate that Quavo offers a healthy work-life balance, prioritizing fun along with a passion for innovation.

Look into the future! Where do you see yourself in the industry?

In the future, I hope to continue to be at the forefront of our core solution development, expanding our offerings, and enhancing our existing solutions. We have some really cool efforts underway that I am excited to be a part of and cannot wait to make available to our partners and clients.

Let’s learn more about you, where do you reside? What do you do outside of work?

Our family lives in a town just north of Lansing. My wife and I have three amazing kids who keep us very busy and fill our lives with joy and laughter. When they aren’t involved in sports, piano lessons, or academic programs, you can find us nerding out on our family Minecraft server, playing board games, or setting up a good blanket fort in the basement. We love animals, and although we currently do not have any pets, we enjoy fostering animals for the Capital Area Humane Society.

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and exploring all that this planet has to offer. My family loves traveling, hitting the slopes in the winter, and spending time on the lake in the summer. I also enjoy cycling, and I try to bike into the office in East Lansing when I can (which ends up being about 24 miles round trip). Some friends and I are tackling what I dubbed “The Mitten Shoreline Tour,” where we cycle along the entire coast of the lower peninsula, hugging the shoreline as much as we can on our road bikes enjoying the beauty of our state.
